Susan Wren

Susan Elaine Wren, 65, of Titusville, Florida, formerly of Bismarck, Illinois rose to Heaven at 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday September 17th 2014. She ascended after enduring seven courageous years with cancer. As was her wish she comfortably went to rest in the home she built as a labor of love with her husband beset in the picturesque vista which drew her to the area. She was surrounded by her family when she took her last breath. Throughout her life she carried a love that encompassed both immediate and extended family. Suzi will be deeply missed by her loving and adoring husband, Larry and daughters Hethre Wren of Titusville, FL and Elizabeth Wren of Danville, IL; granddaughters Alexandria and Jimi Jenkins of Titusville, FL and Chelsea Rosnett of Indiana. Carolyn Clippinger who was brought into the fold and loved as a daughter, Danville, IL; Rodrigo Pacheco, an invaluable friend whose love and loyalty are treasured forever, Bismarck, IL; two brothers Rick (Ruth) Watson of Alvin, IL; Larry (Pat) Watson of Danville, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Lib Watson. Suzi was born to James and Elizabeth Watson on June 23, 1949 in Danville, Illinois. She attended Rossville-Alvin schools graduating as a Rossville Bobcat in June of 1967. Her fondest memory of those years was her 65 Fast Back 2+2 Ford Mustang which she named “Jumpin Jack Flash”. She loved that powder blue car with the daisies she painted on the side. On December 14, 1968 Suzi made a lifelong commitment to Larry Hershel Wren. She was much more than a wife to him. She was his business partner, co-worker, and best friend. She was an integral part in the owning and operating of Wren Construction and a variety of restaurants in the Danville area. During those years Suzi was also a loving and caring mother who taught her daughters to be independent and strong just as she was. They lived in Bismarck until 1995 at which time they began their transition to the sunny south. When she wasnt wearing her tool belt she maintained the home with much tender loving care. The yard and flowers were always perfectly maintained. She used her creativity to make crafts and special touches around the house always making things comfortable with her personal touch. Friends and family loved to spend holidays and birthdays eating her chicken and noodles and chocolate cake. One of the things Suzi will always be remembered for is the time she spent sending cards and letters to anyone who needed warm wishes sent their way. She was always thinking of special ways to warm the hearts of others. A celebration of Suzis life will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, September 22, at First Church of the Nazarene in Danville, IL with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, September 21, at Sunset Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest amongst her family at Manns Chapel Cemetery in Rossville, IL.
