Susan Mahony-Christenson

Susan Claire Mahony-Christenson, 76, of Muncie, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on December 14, 1945, the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle Mahony. She married Richard F. Christenson on December 27, 1999; he survives.

She is also survived by her niece, Colleen (Donald) LoConte and their children, Regan, and Delaney as well as her stepdaughter, Gilda Frances Christenson.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph, and Myrtle; son, Michael Lee Wheeler; brother, Leonard Mahony and nephew, Joe Mahony.

Susan truly loved helping people and began working in the medical field at the age of 19. Over her 50-year career she worked at several hospitals including Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Provena, and OSF. After work every day Susan would then go to Mustards Last Stand where she would help run the business with her husband Richard and son Michael. In her spare time, she enjoyed sports, especially golf.

Susans funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with Fr. Timothy Saupp officiating. Following the service Susan will be cremated as per her wishes.

Memorial donations may be made in Susans name to the American Cancer Society.
