Susan Lynn Coffing

Susan Lynn Coffing, 55, of Covington passed away at home on October 11, 2023. She was born on February 12, 1968 in Danville, Illinois to Alberta and Dean Blakeney. They preceded her in death.

Susan grew up in Westville, Illinois graduating from Westville High School with the Class of 1986. She continued her education at Danville Area Community College receiving her associate degree in business administration. She spent over 20 years at First Midwest Bank and most recently was working at Thyssenkrupp in Danville. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother; she loved nothing more than that. She was her daughters biggest cheerleader and got great joy out of attending all of their sporting events. Softball being her all-time favorite. When not at the ballpark, her favorite place to be was the beach. She loved family vacations taken every summer.

Susan married Joe Coffing in 1992 and together they raised two daughters Brittany (Ryan Stimac) Coffing and Brooke (Kaleb Gulley) Coffing. They all survive. Also surviving is her granddaughter Tinley Stimac, brothers Ron Blakeney and David (Donna) Blakeney, and her loving in-laws Roger (Patti) Coffing.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 1-3pm EST at Sunset Funeral Homes Covington Chapel, located at 420 3rd Street, Covington, Indiana. A funeral service celebrating Susans life will follow on Sunday at 3pm EST at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery following services.
