Susan Jane Keith, 70, of Fairmount, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her home in Fairmount.
She was born May 16, 1954, in Danville, Illinois, daughter of the late Robert and Irma (Silkey) Keith.
Susan is survived by her life partner: Jacqui Walters; children: Samuel Keith, Danielle Clos, and Lee Walters; her grandchildren: Alyssa, Bailey, Cheyenne, Selena, Shantel, Aeris, Keir, Dalylah, Phoenix, Razel, Axton, Willow and Cecilia; seven great-grandchildren; and her sisters: Pamela (John) Dabels and Cindy Crucitti.
Along with her parents, Susan was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Schoenherr
Susan was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School. She went on to Illinois State University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in social work in 1976. She spent her years professionally as a social worker for the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services where she met the love of her life, Jacqui. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, listening to music of all types, watching Jeopardy, and spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Susan will take place at 4:30PM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:30PM-4:00PM at the funeral home in Danville.
