Susan Ferguson

Susan Ferguson, 76, of Covington, IN went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2015. She was born on July 27, 1938 in Jamestown, IN, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret (Browning) Ooley. She married Virgil "Ray" Ferguson on December 14, 1956 in Covington, IN. He survives. Susan will be deeply missed by her husband, eight children; Perry (Mary) Ferguson of Kingman, IN, Jeff (Cindy) Ferguson of Carmel, IN, Julie (Gerald) McDaniel of Crawfordville, FL, Nancy (Jody) Reese of Boalsburg, PA, Melanie (Dean) Ungerecht of Covington, KY, Emily Pavlick of Williamsport, IN, Carrie (Chris) Whittemore of Pleasant Gap, PA and Leah (Matt) Keele of Covington, IN. Also, surviving her is one brother, Steve (Debbi) Ooley of Ladoga, IN, 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Beth Curren. Susan worked for Mike's Colonial Parkway as a cook for three years since she had a lot of practice in the kitchen while raising eight children but was mostly a homemaker. She had a strong love for the Lord that she shared by teaching the ladies Bible study group for many years. She and Virgil are members of Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington. Susan was also a member of 4H, a Home Economics Club and her online group the Granny Neighborhood. She really enjoyed quilting, singing, sewing, making crafts and spending time with all of her family. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM EST at Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington, IN, with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM EST at Maranatha Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington. Memorials can be made in Susan's name to Maranatha Baptist Church. Sunset's Covington Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
