Susan E. Dukes

Susan "Sue" Elizabeth (Marrow) Dukes, 54, of Alvin, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital. Sue was born on October 1st, 1957, in Danville, the daughter of Harold and Patricia (Rusk) Marrow. She married David Dukes on January 13th, 1973 in Danville. He survives. She is survived by one son- Troy (Heather) Dukes of Danville; one daughter- Angela Cummins of Ridge Farm; two grandchildren- Drayven and Chevelle Dukes; sister- Debra (Dick) Bays of Tilton; Michael (Barb) Marrow of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sue worked at Wal-Mart for several years and most recently at the Short Stop. Several years ago Sue and Debra owned and operated "Two Sisters Restaurant". Sue enjoyed gardening, cooking, mushroom hunting and spending quality time with the family. A Celebration of the life of Susan "Sue" Elizabeth (Marrow) Dukes will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 2nd, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Rick Lomax officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Bethel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
