Susan D. Ollis

Susan D. Ollis, 70, of Catlin, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 1:00 AM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on May 16, 1943 in Danville, IL, the daughter of James A. and Alta Laverne (Jones) Mendenhall. She married Grant W. Ollis Jr. on June 19, 1981 in Danville. He survives. Surviving her are three daughters- Jolene (Allen) Myers of Danville, Mary Ellen Peters of Indianapolis, Melinda Roberts of Indianapolis, three sons- Todd (Cindi) Scott of Catlin, Michael (Connie) Ollis of Indianapolis, Monte (Gina) Ollis of Westville, one sister- Celine Wise of Oakwood, ten grandchildren- Brandon Scott, Amber (Justin) Puzey, Nikki Parker, Jonathan Eckert, Brandi (Chris) Renollet, Brittany Roberts, Kaitlyn Roberts, Samantha Roberts, Jordan Ollis and Jacob Ollis, six great grandchildren- Caiden Scott, Aiden and Maci Jo Garrison, Ryder Craft, Ty Puzey and Xander Renollet. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and one brother- James H. Mendenhall. She was a graduate of Danville High School Class of 1961. She worked at Chuckles, General Electric, and Tee Pak. She was the president of Your Rite Cleaning Service Inc. Susan enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandkids, flea marketing and loved spending time on the computer. Susan and Grant were also members of Second Church of Christ in Danville. A celebration of Susans Life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Charlie Strange officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Susans name to the American Lung Cancer Association or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
