Susan Ann Killion

Susan Ann Killion, 79, of Danville, Illinois, passed Sunday, February 23, 2020. Susan was born June 16, 1940 in Danville, Illinois. Susie graduated from Danville High School and married Norman Killion shortly thereafter, in 1959. They had become high school sweethearts after meeting at the Main Street Marty K's and would have been married 61 years to date. Susie and Norman are survived by 3 children: Marc (Janice) Killion, Kris (Clara) Killion, and Kelly Killion. She also is survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Norman Killion, parents: Ed & Margaret Martin, grandsons: Timothy & James Miller and great-grandson Nicholas Swearingen. Susies career included 27 years at GE as well as 8 years at C&V Erectors, in which she was highly dedicated and retired leaving an everlasting impression. Susie developed many passions and hobbies in life; particularly spending time with family and friends, being an avid fan of the Illini and Cubs & immersing into the Vermilion Fishing Club, in which she became the treasurer and a dearly loved friend in the community. Her retirement was spent in her family house, one built and designed by her husband Norman. She took great pride in making her home in the woods a family sanctuary in which all gatherings and holidays took place. Her home also served as a passionate hobby of observing the wildlife of birds, deer and their fawns. Susies compassion also included her house fish, parakeets and her beloved terrier, Maggie May. Her ability to build out a home compacted with love became an art. To say that Susie Killion will be missed is an understatement. She left such an impression on each life she touched that her physical presence will be forever missed. Her love lives eternally through us and we count ourselves blessed to have been impacted by her life.

A celebration of Susies life will be held at 11AM on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9AM to 11AM at the funeral home, casual attire is encouraged. She will be laid to rest at Gordon Cemetery.
