Sue A. Stevens

Danville – Sue Ann Stevens, 57, of Danville, passed away at 11:04 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on December 13, 1967, to Richard and Opal James. She was first married to Billy Stevens and later to Bill Clements.

She is survived by five children, Miranda (Anthony Adamson) James-Oakes, Rachel James, Matthew (Courtney) Crane, Tassie Goulding, and Bethany Casey; 13 grandkids and 8 grandkids; sister, Kathy (James) Johnson; nieces and nephews, Amanda (Ashley) Johnson, Kayla Ramiro, Jack (Katlynn) Johnson, and Cassie Johnson; and special friends, Scott Short and Isaac Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Travis James.

Sue would often spend her free time crocheting and practicing her card shuffling but especially enjoyed painting kindness rocks. Over the years, she placed many of these rocks around the area to brighten a stranger’s day when they would come across one. Most of all, Sue loved her family and cherished the time she would spend with her kids and grandkids. She will be missed dearly by them.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Sue Stevens will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Pastor Jay Sorell will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service on Friday, also at Sunset in Danville.
