Sue Salrin, 58, of Oakwood went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2009 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Sue was born March 8, 1950 in Danville daughter of Paul D. and Helen D. Stuebe Thompson. She married Richard Salrin on February 23, 1975 in Danville. He survives. She is also survived by their daughter and best friend Melissa Salrin (Sean Warren) of Oakwood; brother John Thompson (Fran Bond) of Tilton, and a special friend Linda Shumaker of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sue attended Danville High School and had worked as a pharmacy technician at the Danville VA Hospital for 27 years until retiring in 2000. Sue was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling, weekend get a ways going to concerts or riverboats, but, most of all spending time with her family. A Celebration of Sues Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home, the family will also receive friends one hour before the service on Tuesday. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
