Sue A. Whisler

Sue A. Whisler, 75, of Danville, passed away at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Sue was born on February 18, 1934 in Watseka, Illinois, the daughter of Charles E. and Mildred B. (Small) Smith. She is survived by her son- Jeffrey Whisler of Portland, Maine; three daughters- Debra (Gary) Coon of Sanford, Florida, Cindy Ashby of Danville and Denise Whisler of Danville; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and cousin- Tom (Patty) Small of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-brother. Sue graduated from Bismarck High School. She worked for several years as a retail clerk at Danville Tent and Awning, Berline, Ayr Way, Target, Hooks and most recently CVS. She retired from CVS in 2001. Sue enjoyed bowling and was an avid Cubs, Bulls, and Illini fan. A Celebration of the Life of Sue A. Whisler will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in Sues name.
