Steven Ray Sprague

Steven Ray Sprague, 56, of Williamsport, IN, passed this Life at 11:04pm on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on August 8, 1953, in Danville, the son of James Edward and Delores Irene (Neuman) Sprague. On April 8, 1972, Steve married Elizabeth Jane Doney. She survives along with their four children, Chad Anthony Sprague of Fithian, IL, Matthew Steven (Ami) Sprague of Williamsport, IN, Jeremiah Jay Sprague of Williamsport, IN, and Katie Jo (Trenton) Seaman of Alvin, IL. His four grandchildren, Bennett James Sprague, Jameson Lee Sprague, Hunter James Sprague, Houston Rae Sprague, his brother, Rodger (Cheryl) Sprague of Oakwood, his mother, Delores, and his mother-in-law, Betty J. Doney, also survive Steve. His father, James, one brother, Phillip L. Sprague, his daughter-in-law, LeeAnn Ludwig Sprague, his sister-in-law, Marilyn Cushman, and his niece, Michele Doney preceded Steve in death. Steve was a 1972 Oakwood High School graduate and an all around star athlete. He worked many years at the Hysters Foundry in Danville as a mill rite, retiring from Danville Metal, and most recently worked for the Mervis family. He enjoyed woodworking, raising his mules, fishing, hunting, and being an all around outdoorsman. He throughly enjoyed sharing the many hunting camps with his family and friends over the years. Steve will be missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of Steven Ray Spragues life will began at 10:00am CST on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with internment to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Oakwood. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm CST on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
