Steven Furry

Danville Steven Furry, 75, of Danville passed away at 4:59 AM on February 19, 2023 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL.

Steven was born on November 16, 1947 the son of Lyman and Rachel (Smith) Furry in Danville, IL.

Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Furry of Bloomington, IL, one brother, Dan (Brenda) Furry of Perrysville, IN, one sister, Jeri Morris of Urbana, IL, as well as his nieces and nephews, Mark, Jan, Kathy, Sandy, Tim, Angie, Jamie, Jason and Alyssa.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alice Stewart and one nephew, Mike Morris.

Steven graduated Danville High School and served in the United States Navy. He was an avid John Wayne fan and obtained a huge collection of his movies.

Dan, along with the entire family would like to thank Hawthorne Inn for the wonderful care Steve received over the past twenty-one years. Much of the staff were more than caregivers and became more like family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Greg Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
