Steven Cole

Steven Ray Cole, 64, of Danville passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at 4:50 AM at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born June 7, 1952 in Danville the son of Ester (Gossett) Karl. Steven liked visiting his grandmother in the nursing home and playing cards. He also enjoyed talking to his mother on the phone. Christmas was one of his favorite times of year. Steven attended the church services at Shultz House on Sundays. When he was home on the weekends he liked to watch Lawrence Welk on Saturday and Charles Stanley on Sunday, listening to his sermons. Steven is survived by his mother, Ester Claudine Karl of Westville; brother James (Dianne) Cole of Danville; and many loving friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John A. Karl and his grandparents, Horace and Thelma Gossett. A Celebration of Steven's Life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown. Pastor Jim Blue will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Steven's name to Shultz House, Danville.
