Covington, Ind. - Steven C. Dice, 71, of rural Covington passed away at 1:27 p.m. EDT Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence.
He was born April 6, 1949 in Crawfordsville, Indiana the son of Carl William and Eleanor Jean (Howard) Dice.
Steve married Victoria L. 'Vickey' Brewer on May 6, 1972 in Covington. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2006.
Survivors include his daughter: Casey (Randy) Jumps of Covington, Indiana; son: Mark (Fianc Ashleigh Sorrell) Dice of Covington, Indiana; mother: Eleanor Jean Dice of Attica, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Tanner, Hunter, and Avery Jumps, Gage, Easton, and Victoria Dice, and Corrissa Remter; sister: Debbie (Darryl) Bell of Veedersburg, Indiana; sister-in-law: Sandi (Steve) Denhart of Pittsboro, Indiana; brother-in-laws: Scot (Lori) and Bill (Patty) Brewer, both of Covington, Indiana, along with a special group of caregivers and many wonderful friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his father: Carl 'Bill' Dice.
Steve worked in Human Resources, for many years at Olin/Flexel and retired (April 2015) from Steel Grip. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Covington, Indiana. Steve was a 1967 graduate of Fountain Central High School. He enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, Purdue, Yankees, and the Colts. Most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their many sport activities, and spending time with them. They all adored their Papaw.
Anyone that knew Steve loved him, and enjoyed his ornery sense of humor! He had the kindest heart, and a strong faith in God, even through the toughest battles. Many people admired his strength and positive attitude. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the First Church of Christ, 615 5th Street, Covington, Indiana 47932; Officiating: Greg McDonald; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, Indiana; Visitation: Monday, September 7, 2020 from 2 to 6 p.m. EDT at the church and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
