Steve Montgomery

Champaign- Stephen Dean Montgomery 76, of Champaign IL, passed away on June 30, 2017 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign. Steve was born September 16, 1940, in Indianapolis IN, the son of Lorenzo and Beatrice Montgomery. On July 2, 1961, he married Ima Jean He was a member of First Christian Church in Champaign, where he worked as their Financial Recording Secretary. He enjoyed photography and looking for treasures with his metal detector. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Steve is survived by his wife, Jean; son Eddie Montgomery (Shelley); daughter Mavis Beaumont (Kurt); grandchildren Kyle Beaumont, Skyler Cargo, Mark Montgomery, Kylie and Karly Beaumont; and great grandchildren Kamden and Kinley Beaumont. A Celebration of Steve's life will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at 11 am at First Christian Church 3601 S Staley Rd, Champaign Il, 61822. A visitation will be held one hour prior starting at 10 am. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Mayview Il. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Carle Hospice and First Christian Church of Champaign. Sunset Champaign-Urbana Funeral Home assisted family with arrangements.
