Steve R. Cundiff

Steve R. Cundiff, 61, of Indianola, passed away on July 14, 2025 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman. He was born on September 12, 1963 in Paris, Illinois to the late James and Gladys Cundiff. After James’s unexpected passing while Steve was still just a boy, his stepfather, Harold, played a tremendous role in his upbringing. It was Harold, in fact, that got Steve interested in showing cattle, sparking a lifelong passion for farming.

Steve attended Georgetown High School growing up, and was known for his good nature and innate ability to connect with nearly anyone. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially if it meant he could spend the day fishing, camping, or metal detecting. He married Lisa Ingram and over the next 37 years the two made wonderful memories together until his passing. He was an extraordinary husband, and a wonderful father to his daughter and stepchildren, whom he treated like his own. He will be sorely missed by his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his stepson Shawn Songer and brother Jim Cundiff. He also has been reunited with his uncle Clyde Cundiff.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Cundiff; his daughter Melissa Cundiff; and his best friend Tony Franny. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Bill Reagan, sister-in-law Wilma Ingram; and his loyal cat Gizmo. There was nothing more important to Steve than spending time with his family and friends.

Steve has been laid to rest following private graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Houghton-Leasure Chapel was entrusted with arrangements. Please share fond memories, pictures, and videos with his family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
