Stephen Nash Smith, born on January 27, 1950, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Mahomet, Illinois.
Steve was a devoted father to Richie Nash Smith (Missy), and Staci Smith. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Justin Nash Smith, Kyle Nash Smith, Autumn Smith, and Kelly Chappell. His family was his greatest treasure, and he found boundless happiness in spending quality time with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Steve is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Earl Rick Smith, Pam Hurlburt, Jennifer Marino, and Randy McCullough.
Throughout his years, Stephen enjoyed a variety of interests that brought him fulfillment. He found great joy in fishing and riding his Harley. As a proud fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, he celebrated many victories and heartbreaks, a true testament to his spirited nature.
Steves legacy is not only defined by his hobbies but also by the love he cultivated in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Geneva Smith, and his devoted wife, Diana. Their memories lived on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire.
