Danville, IL Stephen Phillip Parsons, 85, of Danville, IL., passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at his home.
Stephen was born on August 14, 1938, in Danville, IL., the son of the late Loyd and Grace (Huber) Parsons.
Survivors include his two daughters: Patricia "Lynn" (Harold) Neal of Catlin, IL., and Penny Mincey of Danville, IL; a son: Scott (Janice) Parsons of Cottageville, SC; one brother: Kenneth Parsons; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving, his "bonus sons" Ron (Donna) Stewart and Keith (Marilee) Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Joann, and one brother, Larry Michael Parsons
Stephen loved working with his hands and spent his years perfecting his craft as a welder for various factories in the area. He was former governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1001 in Oakwood, IL., and in his younger years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, karaoke, bowling and woodworking.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the DaVita Dialysis Team in Danville, IL., for the love and care that they gave to Stephen over the last five years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., 61834. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-2PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Stephens name to St. Judes Children Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
