Stella McKennon

Stella McKennon,71, a cherished nurse and beloved member of her family, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Paris, Illinois, following a short stay at the local hospital. Born on March 21, 1954, in Tamaroa, Illinois, Stella lived a life of dedicated service, compassion, and familial love.

With a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, Stella devoted over 40 years to her profession, where she was known for her unwavering commitment and genuine care for her patients. She had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of those around her, always enjoying taking care of people and providing comfort during difficult times.

Outside of her professional life, Stella embraced various interests that brought her joy. She found delight in crocheting and was an accomplished Air Vac Nurse, demonstrating her exceptional skills both in the hospital and in the field. Her leisure time often included shopping, whether online or in person, and she had a passion for skeet shooting, enjoying the thrill and camaraderie it offered.

Stella was a proud matriarch, and her family was a central part of her life. She is survived by her son Lonnie "Tanya" Heine, daughter Katina "Bob" Nichols, grandchildren Madison "Daelan" Lee, Qwinton Nichols, Brittney Heine, and Brandon Heine, as well as great-grandsons Lindin, Liam, and Layton. Her loving sisters, Sue Feltmeyer and Barb Percifull, also remain to cherish her memory.

Stella joins her father, Lonnie Elder, her mother, Alta "Rice" Elder, her granddaughter Emerald, and multiple brothers and sisters in eternal rest. She will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she impacted, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service.
