Stanley Martin Buyno

Stanley Martin Buyno, 91 of Georgetown, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 5:20 PM at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. He was born November 12, 1925 in Westville, the son of John and Constance {Lupinska} Buyno. On August 12, 1972, he married Eileen {Tempel} Guthrie Buyno at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Georgetown. She survives and will cherish all their time spent together. Also surviving are his step-children, whom he always considered his own, Kay (Alan) Wynn, Claudia Guthrie-Weathers, and Russell (Jane) Guthrie; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Rosemary (Robert) Buyno Sullivan and Mary Lynn (Jon) Buyno Mann; and many other nieces, nephews, and loving relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John and Joseph Buyno. Stan farmed all his life. He and his brother, John, and mother bought some small acreage with their milk money and from that they built their large farming operation that they have today. Stan was a man of strong faith. With being a farmer, it took a lot of love, prayer, time, and that strong faith, to plant a small seed in the ground and expect it to grow a return, and hopefully a profit for the year. Stan and Eileen were both very fortunate from this and shared this good fortune with their family, church, and many community organizations. He was a generous and kind man and will always be remembered as that. Stan was farming. That is what he loved to do. He farmed from sun up to sun down and past that on most days. Stan was a dedicated farmer and loved being in the soil and beauty of it all. Through his generosity and love of farming, his legacy will continue to live on forever. A celebration of Stan's life will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown. Fr. Timothy Sauppe will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the funeral home. A rosary will be said in his name at 3:30 PM prior to visitation at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the Danville American Legion Post #210.
