Stanley J. Topol, 83, of Fithian, Illinois passed away on November 12, 2010 at his residence. Stanley was born July 15, 1927 in Radisson, WI son of Vinson and Edna Topol. He married Wilka Berniece Dazey on October 9, 1946. She preceded him in December of 2000. Survivors include two daughters: Tianna Kurko and Charlene (Blair) Leibach; brother: Edward Topol; five grandchildren: Kenneth Kurko, Christina Kurko, Blake (Susi) Leibach, Katie Leibach, and Benjamin (Madison) Leibach; four great-grandchildren: Benson, Bella, Kaison, and Logan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kenneth. Stanley worked as a carpenter for fifteen years in the Chicago area before moving to Fithian, Illinois were he founded Topol Trucking. He truly loved his work, whether driving, maintaining, or fixing his fleet of five rigs. He retired in 2002 at the age of 75. Stanley was a life member of the Fithian United Methodist Church and belonged to the local ELKS Club. Stanley enjoyed shooting pool, dancing, tinkering with and riding his motorcycles. A Celebration of Stanleys Life will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Fithian United Methodist Chruch with Rev. Kim Dancey officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday evening at Sunsets Oakwood Chapel, a Life Celebration Home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian.
