Stanley Collom

Stanley L. Collom, 66, of Georgetown passed away at 11:39 p.m. Tuesday June 24, 2008 at Provena Covenant Hospital in Urbana. He was born on February 1, 1942 in Highland, IN the son of Paul and Norma LaMar Collom. He married Joy Legros on May 29, 1976 in Georgetown, IL. She survives of Georgetown. Other survivors include: his son, Michael Troy (Robin Brown) Legros of Martinsville, IN; his daughters, Tracy (Bob Mizones) Davies of Chicago, IL and Cheri Le Collom of Deland, FL; his grandchildren, John Cody (Ashley Hubbard) Scott of Danville, Tara Scott of Westville, and Daniel Collom of Deland Florida; one great grandson, Kaiden Scott of Danville; three brothers, Larry (Susie) Collom of Georgetown, Curtis (Brenda) Collom of Thibodaux, LA, and Alan Collom of Georgetown; one sister, Patsy Green of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ralph Buddy Collom. Stanley was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from GM in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved being outside and mowing his lawn. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 27, 2008 at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown. Pastor Glenn Thompson will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
