Sonna Billings

Sonna Billings, 51, of Danville passed away on Saturday April 11th at her home with family by her side. Sonna was born June 19th, 1963 in Danville to Charles and Sharon (Heffern) Shelato. Her father was remarried in 1989 to Consuelo. She married Dennis Billings November 16th, 1985, he survives. Also surviving Sonna is two sons, Joshua Copas and Brian (Hillary) Crider; one daughter, Jessica (Jd) Rummer; two brothers, Ron (Patty) Shelato and Chuck (Shanie) Shelato; two sisters, Adriana (Femi) Alabi and Carmen Garza; twelve grandchildren, Saira, Joshua, Zackary, German, DeSani, Ambrea, Alexander, Alahna, Brylee, Johnte, Elijah, and Lailah; special friends and family, Sugarboogar, Nikki-boo-boo, Michelle-fox, Gayle Heath,and Tracy Stark; nieces and nephews, Nancy Harkner, Stacy Gauthier, Katie Shelato, Meghan Shelato, Zach Frazier, Rob Garza, Bri Garza, Femi Alabi, Ayoola Alabi, Lonette Pifer, John Conway, and Daniel Conway. Sonna was preceded in death by her mother Sharon (Heffern) Shelato, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, and one nephew Shawn Conway. Sonna enjoyed all sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Chicago Bulls basketball, and Chicago Blackhawks hockey. She also enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with her family and friends. She always enjoyed her Mountain Dew. But most of all, Sonna enjoyed sitting on the deck watching her grandchildren play in the backyard. A celebration of Sonnas life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville on Wednesday, April 15th at 1 PM. Pastor Raymie Gordon will be officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14th from 4 PM- 8 PM at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made in Sonnas name to the family.
