Sondra K. Swisher

Sondra K. (Phelps) Swisher, 74, of Danville, passed away at 3:43 AM on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Hospital in Danville. Sondra was born on August 16, 1938 in Danville, the daughter of Earl and Adahbell (Cox) Phelps. She married Billy L. Swisher on January 28, 1955. He survives. Survivors include her children Toni (Keith) Downing, Steve (Ronda) Swisher and Teresa Swisher Bailey, her sisters- Donna Linn and Rebecca (Mark) Forsyth, brother- Kim Phelps, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her sister- Constance (Connie) McGowen and brother in laws- Glen McGowen and Roy Linn, one grandson- Lindsey Keith Downing and one son- Billy E. Swisher. Sondra spent many years working in special education. She was a devoted wife and mother. A Celebration of Sondra's life will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor James Blue officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials can be made in Sondra's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
