Sondra J. Griffin

Sondra J. Griffin, 66, of Sidell, passed away at 2:00 am, Sunday, August, 8, 2009 at Newman Rehab and HCC in Newman. She was born April 29, 1943 in Humrick, IL, the daughter of Lanie Jake Johnson and Esther Mack. Sondra married Carl Griffin on September 8, 1958 in Eugene, IN. He survives. She is also survived by: two sons, Wade Griffin and Danny Joe (Tammie) Griffin, both of Sidell; one daughter, Deb (Larry) Burgess of Chrisman; her father, Lanie Jake (Dorothy Dot) Johnson; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronnie (Karen Mae) Johnson of Kingman, IN, Lanie (Karen Kay) Johnson of Rockville, IN, and Jerry (Sharon) Johnson of Hegler; also, two sisters, Jean (Dave) Dodson of Cayuga, IN, and Carol (Danny) Fannan of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by: her mother; two brothers; and two grandsons. Sondra had worked at the V.A. Hospital in Danville in the food service dept. for twenty years and enjoyed playing bingo and spending the winters in Florida with her husband Carle, most of all she loved visiting with her family. As per Sondras personal wishes there will be no services and she will be cremated. A memorial carry-in dinner will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, August 15th, 2009 at Georgetown Park.
