Shirley Westwater

Shirley Westwater, 84, passed on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Heritage Health in Hoopeston, IL.

She was born on May 25, 1934 in Warren County Indiana the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Powell) Byers. She first married Robert Lusk, Jr. in November 1956 and they had three children, Jeannie, Randy and Michael. She married Dr. Robert Westwater on February 16, 1985 widening the family circle to include, Alice, Robert, Allen, Craig, Kirk and John.

She is survived by Jeannie (John) Zollar of Rossville, Randy (Monique) Lusk of Rossville, IL, Michael (Luann) Lusk of Alvin; daughter, , Alice (Robert) Collins, Robert Westwater, Craig and (John McQueen) Bott, Kirk (Joy) Bott, John (Jasmin) Westwater; grandchildren, Trisha (Allen) Willard, Amanda (Montrell) Hill, Jared Zollar, Tom (Amanda) Lusk, Jacob (Maci LaMar) Zollar, James Zollar, Jenna Zollar; Bobby, Rick, Michael and Christopher Collins, Bobby John, Gisela Westwater; Errol Beth, Chloe, Decklan, Achaius Westwater; Laura, Amy, Andy and Stephanie Bott; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dr. Robert J. Westwater, Teresa Westwater and infant great granddaughter, Andi Mae Willard.

Shirley was a member of the Second Church of Christ and United Samaritans Hospital Auxiliary in Danville. She was a registered nurse, having served at Lakeview Hospital, the Rossville-Alvin School Nurse and Supervising Nurse at Colonial Manor. She enjoyed crafting, traveling and reading. She loved spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 North Vermilion, Danville, Illinois 61834. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
