Shirley is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, brothers Richard Robinson, and James Hobbs, sisters, Mary Louise Robinson, Hazel Proctor, Lucille Hobbs, Dorothy Edinger, Barbara Zumwalt and great-grandson Brysom Dillon. Shirley's journey over the last 80 years has been filled with all the experiences that make life worth living. Friendship, family, love, honor, loyalty and respect are intertwined with loss, hardship, and pain in a pattern that made the blueprint for her journey. Shirley took pride in being her own person and making her own way in a time that many women did not have that choice. Her strong sense of independence fueled her passion for life. Her devotion to family made her the person everyone could count on in their time of need. She was a rock for her family. Shirley's quick wit often dominated the conversation and no one stood a chance at winning an argument with her. But as fiercely as she would argue with you, she would also fight for you when needed. At the age of 19, Shirley married Kenneth Reffett. She took a leap of faith by marrying him after knowing Kenny for only two weeks, beginning the union that lasted for 40 years. Fearlessly she plunged into her new life which would produce the family she cherished. Through drive and determination, they built a life together which was solid enough to endure the trials and tribulations life threw at them. A few years after his passing, Shirley reconnected with an old high school sweetheart, Leo Perry who once again turned her into a giggling school girl. He adored her for the rest of his days and she let him, unless he got on her nerves and had to be sent home. Shirley always worked outside of the home. Prior to retirement, she worked at Victory Beauty Supply after Anchor Hocking closed. Her hard work was rewarded with responsibility that landed her in management positions. She had high expectations of her co-workers but never asked anything of them that she was not willing to do herself. This standard meant she was not always liked, but she commanded respect and treated others in kind. Shirley took pride in a job well done and held her own in a male dominated world. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing games like Yahtzee, listening to music (especially Bob Seger), talking to her sisters on the phone chain, cheering for Jeff Gordan, the Cardinals, and the Bears, depending on the season. Her excitement could be heard all around when one of her favorites was taking the lead. She enjoyed her role as Grandma and Great-Grandma as the family grew. She also enjoyed her animals whom she spoiled, Angel and Sammy, as well as taking in lots of strays who needed care. Shirley passed her values to her children in the best way possible, by living them. She will be missed but lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
