Shirley Lee Eich Dick, 64, of Danville, died at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at her residence. Shirley was born on March 2, 1942 in Greenville, PA, the daughter of Harold Leroy and Marion Adelle (Porter) Eich. She married Dwaine Clayton Dick on October 16, 1971 in Greenville, PA. He survives. Shirley is survived by her mother, Marion Adelle Eich-Prebula of Greenville, Pennsylvania; one son, Bryan Troy (Lynn Marie Dyskievicz-Dick) Dick of Danville; two daughters, Tracie Lynn (William Michael, Jr.) ONeill of Danville and Michelle Lee Dick of Oakwood, IL; four grandchildren, Alycia Adelle Marfongella, Jared Michael Dick, Stefan Christopher Dick, and Jesse Alexander Dick all of Danville; one brother, Harold Terry (Pamela) Eich of Orlando, FL and two sisters, Norma Jean (Elmer M.) Zane of Greenville, PA and Barbara Gay (Author M.) Runkel of Cochranton, PA; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Leroy Eich, her maternal grandparents, her paternal grandparents, and her very special black lab Cowboy. Shirley was a graduate of Fredonia Delaware High School in Fredonia, PA. She was employed for 22 years by CCMSI, serving as an account manager the last several years before her retirement in June 2005. Shirley had previously worked in education administration in Chicago and Ohio. Shirley had become an enthusiastic NASCAR fan; her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. She went to the Brickyard race last year in Indianapolis and had tickets to attend this years race as well. Shirley loved her home and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed going shopping with her granddaughter and daughters. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Shirley was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. A celebration of Shirleys life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Danville with Rev. Ed Stone officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made in Shirleys name in lieu of flowers to IUPUI in Indianapolis for Cancer Research or to the American Cancer Society.
