Shirley Lamm

Shirley J. Lamm, 92, of Danville passed away at 8:00 PM on August 30, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Shirley was born on July 20, 1930 the daughter of Bert and Esther (Krohn) Marriott in Seattle, WA.

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey (Connie) Lamm of Palm Coast, FL, Marvin (Alisa) Lamm of Danville, IL and Roger (Juli) Lamm of Homer, IL, grandchildren, Zane, Darren, Kyle, Stephen, Season, Shannon, Lee, Taylor, and Nick as well as great grandchildren, Terron, Noah, Lyla, Maisie, Elsie, Madelyn and Saxon along with one great great granddaughter Emmylou.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bert, Jr & Cleland.

Shirley was a volunteer for many years at the local VA Hospital, Meade Park and East Park schools in Danville. While in Florida, she volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House for 13 years. She worked as a medical secretary at the VA in Danville and Gainesville, FL before retiring with 23 years. She had worked for Dr Levine and Dr Spencer prior to those years in Danville. After retiring, she worked for Albin Vending in Danville, IL for several years.

Shirley loved being with her family; traveling with family and friends; had a bestie, Jean Sisson in Seattle, Washington who both are still best friends. She enjoyed working in her yard, bowling, working on puzzles, and walking her dog.

She was custom made to raise her three boys. She adored them above all else. She always lovingly spoke of the many challenges they presented. She gave her daughter-n-laws unquestionable love and endless support. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and made sure they knew she was always there for them. Her love was boundless, given freely and she never asked for a thing in return. She was very self-less; always doing for others.

Shirley has donated her body to science. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital in St Louis and/or Ronald McDonald Houses.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Kiley Garrison will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
