Shirley Krout

Shirley Krout, 69, of Covington went to be with the Lord on Saturday afternoon June 17, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Shirley was born on January 30, 1948 the daughter of Lester and Pearl (Coley) Brownfield in Rensselaer, IN. Shirley married the love of her life Dwayne Krout on August 4th, 1964, he survives. Also surviving Shirley are her three children, Wes (Lisa Jo) Krout, Ron Krout and Tamara (Don Bowman) Krout, five grandchildren; R.J., Hannah, Savannah, Courtney Krout and Cody Lane Hall, one great granddaughter Kora Krout, one brother Jim Brownfield, two sisters; Joyce (Franklin) Fleck and Linda (Fritz) Zarse. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Kenny and Richard Brownfield, one sister Ruth Gibbs. Shirley work for many years in Florida at the Florida Children's Home as a house mom taking care of all the kids needs. Shirley was a member of First Baptist church in Covington where she enjoyed services and good friendships for many years. She also worked at Chuckles candy factory and Steele Grip. She was a great cook and loved to just be spending time with her family and friends. Rather it was by the ocean or just camping the time she spent with people was what Shirley loved. Cremation will be handled by Sunset's Covington Chapel 420 3rd street Covington per Shirley's wishes. A memorial visitation will be held at First Baptist Church 518 fifth street Covington on Saturday June 24, 2017 from 11 - 1 pm. With a service to follow at 1pm. Officiating will be Andy Harkleroad.
