Shirley Kay Mason

Crawfordsville, Ind. - Shirley Kay Mason, 63, a resident of Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation Crawfordsville for the past three years and formerly of Covington, Indiana passed away at 2:59 p.m. EST Monday, December 4, 2017 at Ben Hur.

She was born March 30, 1954 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Wilson) Hegg.

Survivors include her three children, Kimberly (Brandon) Grubb of Lafayette, Indiana; Kent (Brittni) Mason of Avon, Indiana and Kelly (Jason) Orcutt of Covington, Indiana; one granddaughter, Rumour Grubb; three grandsons, Jury Grubb; Liam Mason and Mason Orcutt; three sisters, Penny Mullens; Billie (Jim) Hudson and Judy Hegg all of Covington, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews

Shirley was preceded in death by her grandson, Maxwell Kent Mason and brother, Bobby Hegg.

Shirley formerly worked at Flexel in Covington, retiring in 1998. She was a 1972 graduate of Covington High School. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services: Noon EST Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Covington United Methodist Church; Officiating: Bob Fairchild; Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana; Visitation: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the church and one hour prior to services on Friday. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46209. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
