Shirley 'Jean' Reese

Shirley 'Jean' (Romack) (Cunningham) Reese, 84, passed away on January 24, 2022 at Gardenview Nursing Home in Danville, IL. She was born on November 28, 1937 in Rose Hill, IL to Ray and Esther (Kibler) Romack.

Jean married John R Cunningham and together they had 4 children, Gerald R. (Fran) Cunningham, Covington, IN, Wanda K. Cunningham, Tulsa OK, John J. (Rebecca Harper) Cunningham, Danville, IL, and Sheryl L (Cunningham) Beenblossom.

She later married Donald F. Reese of Oakwood, IL and gained stepchildren, Sheryl Kay (Phil) Reese-Edwards of Scottsdale, AZ; Cindy (Ferrell) Stroh of Oakwood, IL and Michael W. (Kelly) Reese of Indianola, IL.

Jean also has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and cousins.

Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, John Cunningham; their daughter, Sheryl Beenblossom; second husband, Donald F. Reese; both parents; and her siblings, Robert Romack, Ralph Romack, Doyt Romack, and Anne Biggs.

Jean enjoyed social activities, spending time with family and friends, and acquired the nickname 'Smiley' during her time at the nursing home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor James Blue. Per her wishes, Shirley will be cremated.
