Shirley G. Smith, 69, of Danville, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Provena U.S.M.C. - Logan Campus in Danville. Shirley was born October 13, 1935 in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Wayne S. and Lucy (Powell) Pickett. She married Norman D. Smith on April 30, 1954 in Danville, Illinois; he preceded her in death on November 11, 1994. She is survived by 2 Sons- William Smith of Tucson,AZ and Rick (Pamela) Smith of Danville; 1 Daughter- Vicki Harvey of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 5 Grandchildren - Misty (Rob) Bryant of Danville, Shawn (Naomi) Smith of Danville ,Todd Smith of Rossville, Justin Smith of Tucson, AZ and Seth Harvey of Tucson, AZ; 6 Great-Grandchildren- Alexys, Eric, Daisy and Tyler Smith, Jeremiah Bryant and Craig Kilborne; 2 Sisters- Mary Yowell of Catlin and La Vawn (Chuck) Hoffman of Rossville; 2 Brothers- Robert (Betty) Pickett of Danville and Charley (Elaine) Pickett of Englewood, FL; special friends- Nancy Andrews, Mary Alice Baldwin and Linda Sands. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Sisters - Patti Hallett and Joan Marrow and 5 Brothers- Don, Jim, Clarence, Harry and Jacky Pickett. Shirley worked as a Book Binder at R&S and Kowa Printing for 40 years, retiring in 1998. She loved to play bingo, enjoyed reading, country music, visiting the Grand Ole Opry, and loved to spend time with her great-grandchildren.
