Shirley F. Johnson

Shirley Fay Johnson, 85, of Champaign, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026. She was born in Uno, KY, on December 11, 1940, the daughter of Louis and Annie Warf. On August 9, 1986, she married Michael W. Johnson; he survives.

Shirley is also survived by her sons, Michael (Wendy) Johnson and Steven (Leann Todd) Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, and Zachary; and several sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Shirley had a love for life and enjoyed entertaining family and friends, traveling, gardening, baking, dressing beautifully, and shopping for antiques. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Tolono. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her two beloved kittens. Above all, Shirley treasured her family, who brought her great joy and happiness. She will be remembered for her warm hospitality, many interests, and the love she shared with those around her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Lux Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, IL 61866. A graveside service will be held at Eden Park Cemetery in Rantoul following the visitation.

Memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s name to First Baptist Church of Tolono.
