Shirley Ann Vargo

SHIRLEY ANN (PADGETT) VARGO Shirley Ann (Padgett) Vargo, 76, of Danville, passed away at 5:13 a.m. Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at Danville Care Center. Shirley was born on August 21st, 1934, in Hoopeston, Illinois, the daughter of Isaac and Gladys (Lewin) Jenkins. Isaac passed away shortly after Shirley was born and Gladys married Fred Padgett, who raised Shirley. She is survived by a son- Mark Vargo of Danville; and two nieces- Dana Fischetti of Wilmington, North Carolina and Christine Padgett of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father- Fred Padgett, brother- Lonny Padgett and an infant sister- Beverly June Jenkins. Shirley graduated from Danville High School. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a PTA member at Douglas Park while Mark was in school. She enjoyed embroidery and doing crossword puzzles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Ted Pracz officiating. Burial will follow the service in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
