Shirley Ann Schroeder

Danville Shirley Ann Schroeder, 87, of Danville passed away on December 13, 2019 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville at 3:10 PM.

Shirley was born the daughter of Floyd and Marie (Hess) Myler on March 18, 1932 in Danville, IL. She married Hubert Golden on January 26, 1952 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1983. She later married Gene Schroeder on October 28, 2000 and he survives of Danville, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Schroeder of Danville, IL, four sons, Craig (Gayle) Golden, Larry (Barb) Golden, Ted (Penny) Golden, all of Danville, IL and Tom (Betty) Golden of Bismarck, one daughter Carol (Brad) McCubbin, one daughter-in-law, Carol Golden both of Bismarck, one step son, David Schroeder and one step-daughter, Sally (Tim) Sanders both of Danville, IL as well as fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Edward Houshauer, her first husband Hubert Golden, one son, Brad Golden and one sister, Barbara Jeanne Hearty.

Shirley attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a Registered Nurse for many years. She enjoyed spending her free time gardening and hanging out with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 1:00 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
