Shirley Ann Meeker

Shirley Ann Meeker, 76, of Danville IL passed away on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville IL. She was born in Danville IL on February 17th, 1947 to Jack and Dorothy (Britton) Thomas.

Shirley married Walter (Butch) Meeker on November 2nd, 1979. Between the two Shirley and Butch had a Brady Bunch. Ronald Jr. and Wendy Weddle and Wally and Kelly Meeker.

Shirley was always a hard worker working at Suttons, True Value, Sears and Danville Metal Stamping where she retired. She spent her retired days crocheting blankets for anyone that needed it. Helping with farm chores and hanging out at the chicken and horse sales.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband Butch of 44 years. Her children Ronald Weddle Jr. of Oakwood, Wendy Weddle of Danville, Stepchild Kelly Meeker of Danville, sister Vickie Milewski of Matton, Grandchildren Barbie Wright of Danville, Justin (Alisha) Cox of Newport, IN, Zachary (Karyn) Weddle of Georgetown, and Kelsey (Drew) Boring. Also, many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack Thomas Jr and stepson Wally.

A celebration of Shirleys life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, March 3, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Pastor Wade Martin officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Danville.
