Shirley Ann Mccrone

Shirley A. McCrone, of Trenton, Florida and formerly of the Danville area, passed away on March 26, 2022, in her daughter's home surrounded by family.

Shirley was born January 17, 1944, in Danville, Illinois, daughter of Stanley Talbert and Madge High. She is survived by four children: James P. McCrone of Florida, Julie (Alan) Schultz of Indiana, Cinnamon (Ken) Long of Illinois, and Laura (Jim) Jansky of Texas; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Her husband, James and two grandsons, Benjamin, and Austin preceded her in death.

Shirley would always offer a lending hand to neighbors, friends, and family often thinking of others before herself. She lit up a room with her smile and never met a stranger. She was the neighborhood hostess bringing friends together building memories that will never be forgotten.

Shirley was a force of nature, lover of life, dancing, music, and all things fun! Often described as saucy, life of the party, nurturing, and compassionate. Shirley was known for her love for her grandchildren who often share endless stories of fishing, camping, and trips to the beach. Affectionately known as 'Grandma LaLa' to her great grandchildren, her dramatic flair for dancing, singing, and playful spirit will be treasured always. Her compassion, drive, fun-loving spirit, and work ethic are characteristics her children will strive to imitate in their own lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be sent to the Ronald McDonald House or St.Jude Children's Hospital. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements.
