Danville- Shirley Ann Woodard passed away at 2:10 AM on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville at the age of 71. She was born in Lawrenceville, IL, on December 7, 1938 to Mildred Stevens Pinkstaff. On May 23, 1958, she married her husband of 53 years, Larry Gene Woodard. He survives. Also surviving are 2 sons Jeff (Crystal) Woodard of Ft. Hood, TX, and John (Kristin) Woodard of Danville; daughter Annette Bailey of Danville; half-brother Donnie Pinkstaff; and half-sister Bonnie Boyd; grandchildren J.J. and Andrew Bailey, Greg, Tim and Brianna Woodard, and Mathiew, Larry and Kaitlyn Woodard; as well as several favorite cousins. Her mother Mildred and her grandmother Emma Stevens preceded her in death. Shirley loved camping and was a member of the Fargo-Jayco Camping Club since 1984. On the weekends, she square danced around the area with the Village Squares for 15 years. She also enjoyed crafts, going to flea markets and traveling. Shirley and Larry waited out the cold weather, spending their winters in Florida and Texas. A service to celebrate Shirleys life will be held at 10 AM on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Sunday, August 1, also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Danville Dialysis.
