Cayuga, Ind. -- Shirley A. Peterson, 78, of Cayuga, passed away at 7:05 a.m. EST Sunday February 11, 2007. She was born February 10, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late Walter and Osa Collom Miller. She married Raymond Peterson on October 5, 1985 in Cayuga, Indiana. He survives. Other survivors include: four daughters, Ellen(Brian)Knight of Ladoga, Indiana; Paula(Bob)Shepherd of Danville, Illinois; Julie(Greg)Tolley of Covington, Indiana and Leslie Bailey of Danville, Illinois; one son, Lonnie(Brenda)Welch of Bakersfield, California; three step sons, William(JoAnn)Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana, Mickie(Bridget)Peterson of Danville, Illinois and Kevin(Karen)Peterson of Covington, Indiana; six grandchildren, Shelley Hetrick, Heidi Schrier, Christy Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Bobby Shepherd and Shelby Kingrey; two great grandchildren, Aidin and Wally Joe; fifteen step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah(Joe)Mullen of Tarpon Springs, Florida and Carol Shell of Danville, Illinois; one brother, Terry Miller of Kingman, Indiana; special cousin, Betty Alexander; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; four dear friends, Dianna Rice, Ramona Rose, Susie Roach and Barbara Carter Hathaway. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Andrew Glenn Knight; her beloved brother, Tom Miller; Aunt Dot and two friends, Barb Bardos and Imogene Hollingsworth. Shirley worked at Tee Pak for thirteen years before retiring. She loved to read, cook, watching birds and outdoor flowers. She especially loved her cats. Shirley had a great admiration for the American Indian. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EST Friday, February 16, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wingate, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EST Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Oglala Lakota College, P.O.
