Shirley A. Laws

Shirley A. Laws, 85, of Danville, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI the daughter of Glenn and Marie Cunningham. On November 11, 1960 Shirley married Kenneth G. Laws, and they spent 48 wonderful years together before his passing in 2008.

Shirley is survived by her son, Kim (Vera) Willis of Danville; grandson, Kim Willis II of Georgetown; 2 step grandchildren, Robin (Robert) Golden, Rikki (Josh) Wangler; 1 great-grandchild and 4 step great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Robert Cunningham.

Shirley spent her entire life in the same neighborhood that she grew up in and was particularly proud of being a student of Hooton School and a member of the Hooton community.

Shirley graduated from Danville High School class of 1953. Throughout her life she worked at Quaker Oats, Thermo Techniques, and Breakfast Hostess at Fairfield Inn. She enjoyed knitting, planting flowers in her garden and spending time with her friends and her 2 dogs Gracie and Roy. Shirley was a kind and wonderful woman who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted in handling the funeral arrangements.
