Shirlee Jones

Shirlee Jones, 77, of Danville, passed away at 1:10 AM on August 8, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on February 11, 1936 in Danville, the daughter of Hilton J. and Edith (Downey) Wright Sr. She married Charles W. Jones on November 14, 1953 in Danville. Charles preceded her in death in 2000. Surviving her are two daughters- Barbara Pilkington of Covington, IN and Judy (Monte) Siddens of New Port Richey, FL, one sister- Barbara (Jim) Bullias of Danville, eight grandchildren- Robin Pilkington, Tracey (Brad) Wright, Michelle (Tim) Fults, Marcie Fries, CJ (Lauren) Jurczak, Jacob Jurczak, Oran and Mazie Siddens, nine great grandchildren- Evan, Melia, Owen, Tristian, Gavin, Sophia, Echo, Trajan, Rilyn, many nieces and nephews and dear friend Myra. Shirlee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter-Linda, her brother-Jack, one sister-Virginia. She was a homemaker and loved her job at Earl Gastoff. She attended Second Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Belgium Legion, Tilton Bunco, TOPS, Monday afternoon Helping Hands and Friday morning coffee at McDonalds with friends. A Celebration of Life memorial service for Shirlee will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 3:30 PM at the VA Chapel in Danville with Pastor Kevin Zigler officiating.
