Sherrill Martin

Sherrill A. Martin, 87, of Danville, IL passed away at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL on April 17, 2024 at 11:40 PM.

Sherrill was born on January 21, 1937 the daughter of Harry and Thelma (Menges) Edington in Homer, IL. She married Kenneth Martin on March 24, 1979 in Covington, IN and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Martin of Danville, IL, her children, Cathy (Bruce) Kinney of Danville, IL, Jeff (Tami) Broderick of Decatur, IL, Lisa (Loyd) Creed of Danville, IL, Mike (Kathy) Martin of Bismarck, IL, Beth (Pete) Lappin of Danville, IL and Lynn (Jason) Cook of Clinton, IN, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with one on the way and one great great grandchild also on the way. She is also survived by two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sherrill graduated Bismarck High School in 1954 and graduated from St Elizebeth School of Nursing with her R.N. in 1958. She enjoyed spending her free time doing crossword puzzles, sewing projects, and was a wonderful cook.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Dr Dale DeNeal will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the funeral home.
