Sherman S. 'Mike' Dodge

Danville - Sherman S. "Mike" Dodge, 82, of Danville, IL passed away at 7:44 AM on January 1, 2017 at Presence USMC in Danville, IL. "Mike" was born on August 5, 1934 the son of Clarence and Opal (Musson) Dodge in Ogden, IL. He married Vivian Gooch on August 30, 1952 in Danville, IL and she survives of Danville. Other survivors include two sons: Michael Dodge and Gary (Karen) Dodge both of Danville, IL, one daughter, Joslen (John) Cramer of Danville, IL, one sister, Jerilyn Madin of Florida, nine grandchildren, Tonia (Emanul) Hammond of Oakwood, IL, Ryan (Melissa) Dodge of Tilton, IL, Arian (Christian) Dodge of Danville, IL, Adrian Dodge of Danville, IL, Brandy (Jason) Livingston of South Carolina, Kallista (Bucky) Bryant of Charleston, IL, Skyler Dodge of Chicago, IL, Jimmy Richards of Georgetown, IL and Shane Richards of Danville, as well as eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. "Mike" worked at Tee Pak in Danville, IL for many years. Prior to Tee Pak he had worked at Western Brick. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, bowling, watching NASCAR Racing and sports on television. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday January 6, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, IL. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Oakwood IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday January 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
