Sherlyon L. Asmar

Sherlyon L. Asmar, 72, of Danville, passed away at 7:09pm, Monday, December 15, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born on January 26, 1942, in Christian County, IL, the daughter of Jake D. and Opal {McIntosh} Miller, both deceased. On August 30, 1969, she was united in marriage to Moses Asmar until his passing on June 11, 1995. She will be dearly missed by: her son, Brad (Kelley) Valin of Danville; her daughter, Stacy “Lee” Hyatt of Danville; her grandchildren, Brandi & Kane Valin, both of Danville; her brother, Daniel (Penny) Miller of Tilton; and her sisters, Carol Gossar of Indiana & Ada (Don) Berck of Danville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Valin. Sherlyon enjoyed being a homemaker, as well as, reading and ceramics. She especially enjoyed spending her time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved her faithful canine companion, Oliver. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Danville. As per her wishes, Sherlyon was cremated. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.
