Shelva "Jean" Haun, 82, went to be with her Lord, with her children by her side on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. She was born on March 10, 1938 the daughter of Ernest and Oma Smith in El Dorado, IL. They precede her in death. Jean was united in marriage to Donald Ray Haun on February 19, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1996 after 41 years of marriage.
Also preceding Jean in death was their son, Steve Haun.
Jean leaves behind two sons, Donnie (Reba) Haun and Jeffery (Rachel) Haun; one daughter, Debra (Duane) Collins; grandchildren, Jessica (Rob) Kosack, Kyle Haun, Billy Hillard, Eli Lete, Goldie Lete, Evan (Leah) Haun, Dylan Haun, Logan (Ashley) Haun, Wendy (Matt) Spears, Joshua (Lisa) Collins, and Kelly (Matt) Mosseso; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Swinford.
Jean was an excellent seamstress and crafter. Jean loved her longtime job as a Teachers aide at Danville District #118 schools. She made Christmas special spending weeks decorating, baking, and preparing for the family gathering. She loved her dog, Beau. Jean was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a selfless woman and put her family first while loving them all equally. Jeans compassionate heart led her to always give to those in need. Although small in stature it never stopped her for standing up for what was good, right and fair, she was a force to be reckoned with.
Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. A private family graveside will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DACC Foundation for the Jean Haun Memorial Scholarship, DACC Foundation Office, 2000 East Main Street, Danville, IL 61832.
