Sharon Stevens

Sharon Stevens, 61 of Oakwood, passed away at 9:35am on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on January 25, 1951 in Danville, the daughter of Eugene and Clara (Roose) Bryant. On May 27, 1983, Sharon married Thomas (Pete) Stevens. He survives along with one son, Ron (Brenda) Martin of Danville, and one Daughter, Connie (Kevin High) Martin of Oakwood. Her fifteen grandchildren; Joey (Sarah), Nick, Mike, Justin, Tyler, Zach, Gregg, Samantha, Kaitlyn, Madison, Anaia, Mayci, Ashley (Nick), Austin, Matty, several great-grandchildren, her brother, Jim (Kathy) Bryant of Danville, her sister, Pat Bryant of Danville, and her special dog "Casey" also survive her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Clara, her brother, Joe Bryant, and several aunts and uncles. She attended Danville High School. She loved to make crafts, and go shopping, and camping. She was a Chicago Bear and Cub fan and will be sadly missed by all that knew her. A celebration of Life service for Sharon Stevens is scheduled for 10am on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel located at 105 East South Main Street in Oakwood with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the funeral home. The Stevens family asks that all donations be made to help off-set funeral expenses.
