Sharon Schwelitz

Champaign, IL - Sharon J. Schwelitz, 70, of Champaign, IL, formerly of Racine, WI went to be with her Lord and Savior on 8:00 PM on Monday, October 10, 2016 at her home. She was born on March 18, 1946 in Racine, the daughter of Herman and Astrid (Andersen) Knuth. She married William Schwelitz on November 26, 1966. He survives. William and Sharon's 50th wedding anniversary is this November. Sharon will be dearly missed by her two sons, Robert W. Schwelitz of Racine, WI, and Greg (Laura) Schwelitz of Chandler, AZ; a daughter, Sarah (Darin) Christman of Monticello, IL; two sisters, Marilyn Duda and Gloria Weiss; and five grandchildren, Jacob Veach, Michael Walker, Ava Schwelitz, Nolan Christman, and Sabrina June Christman. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sharon was a homemaker who loved reading, especially the bible, and spending time with her grandchildren. A memorial mass to celebrate the life of Sharon Schwelitz will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, Champaign. Father Rayson will officiate. Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to the Carle Hospice Team for the loving care given to Sharon.
