Sharon Kay Alpers

Danville Sharon Kay Alpers, 80, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born on November 10, 1942 in Washington, IN to Hugh and Norma (Faith) Trowbridge. Sharon married David Alpers on June 26, 1965 in Danville, IL.

Sharon is survived by her children David (Shelley) Alpers Jr., Judie (Bob) Cassity, and Steven (Melinda) Alpers; grandchildren Jessica, Jordan, Kelly, Jacob, David Alan, Alyson, Acelynn, Reese, Kayla, Markus, and Kataleena; great-grandchildren Estella, Elliot, and Taiden; brother Richard Trowbridge; and her dog Bandit. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Sharon was an active member in the Hillery Assembly of God and enjoyed bible studies and bible illustration. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon enjoyed reading, traveling, and going on cruises. She ran her own seamstress business for over 25 years called Alpers Bearly Country.

Visitation will be held from 10am-11am on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois, 61834. Service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Oakwood, IL. Memorial donations may be made in Sharons name to Hillery Assembly of God.
